How to Bypass Email Attachment Size Limits

We've all been there. You've prepared an important document, a high-resolution design, or a presentation, and you try to email it, only to be blocked by the dreaded "Attachment too large" error. Email services like Gmail and Outlook typically limit attachments to just 25MB. So, how do you send that 80MB video file?

The answer is simple: stop attaching files and start sharing links. Curato allows you to upload files up to 500MB and generates a simple, secure link that you can paste into any email.

How to Send Large Files That Bypass Email Limits

Follow this quick guide to send your big files in under a minute.

Step 1: Select Your File(s) on Curato

Navigate to the Curato homepage. On the Send tab, drag and drop your file (or files) into the upload area. You can upload a single file up to 500MB or multiple smaller files that will be automatically zipped together.

Step 2: (Optional) Set Sharing Options

For extra security, you can click on "Sharing Options" to add a password to your transfer. For email sharing, leaving the default expiration (1 Hour or 1 Day) and encryption settings is usually perfect.

Step 3: Generate Your Share Link

Click the "Share File" button. Curato will encrypt and upload your file, then provide you with a unique share link.

Step 4: Copy and Paste the Link into Your Email

Click the "Copy" button next to the share link. Now, go to your email draft, write your message, and simply paste the link. That's it! Your recipient just has to click the link to securely download the file.

Why This Method is Better Than Standard Email Attachments

  • Bypass Size Limits: Send files up to 500MB, far exceeding the typical 25MB email limit.
  • Enhanced Security: Your files are end-to-end encrypted. Even we can't see what you're sending.
  • Control and Privacy: The file is deleted from our servers after the first download or when it expires. It doesn't live forever in someone's inbox.
  • Cleaner Inbox: You avoid clogging up your recipient's inbox with massive files.

Next time you face an attachment size limit, don't waste time trying to compress your file into oblivion. Use Curato to get a secure link in seconds.
